Copenhagen XI – Dinamo 2-7 (Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, 1st round, first leg)
This match still holds Dinamo's record to this day: it is the only time the Blues have scored seven goals in an official European away match. Dinamo defeated the Copenhagen representative team 7-2 in the first leg of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup first round. The return leg ended 2-2 and Dinamo advanced to the next round where they were eventually eliminated by Barcelona.
In this competition, during its early years, some city representative teams also participated. For example, the Copenhagen team found its place, competing under the names København XI or Staevnet.
Seven Olympic internationals from Denmark played for the home team on this occasion against Dinamo. Interestingly, despite Dinamo's convincing victory, Copenhagen started the match better and even led by two goals. Ole Sørensen found the net in the 13th minute and Jørgen Ravn in the 15th minute.
Dinamo switched on the afterburners about ten minutes later and completely turned the result around by half-time. First, Dražan Jerković reduced the deficit in the 24th minute, Ivica Cvitković equalized in the 33rd, and Jerković put the Blues ahead with his second goal in the 41st minute.
Dinamo found the path to goal four more times in the second half, with Cvitković scoring again in the 67th minute, then Ivan Šantek in the 69th, Tomislav Knez in the 88th minute... Dinamo's seventh goal in the 90th minute was scored by Jerković, though some sources indicate that the scorer was actually Željko Matuš.
