Hajduk – Dinamo 1-1 (last derby at Stari plac)
A draw in the last derby between the whites and blues at the Stari plac stadium, just before Hajduk's move to Poljud. This was a match that, precisely because of this context, remained particularly memorable in the historical timeline of encounters between the Maksimir blues and Split whites.
Dinamo, as in previous seasons, travelled to Split on the day of the match itself. 30,000 spectators gathered in the stands, and Hajduk posed their first serious threat in the 23rd minute when Zlatko Vujović delivered a cross from the right. The ball flew across the goal line, but Boriša Đorđević came up just short.
Dinamo responded six minutes later when Radimir Bobinac sent the ball forward, Milan Ćalasan collected it and went one-on-one against goalkeeper Ivan Budinčević, but ultimately shot over the goal.
Hajduk took the lead in the opening seconds of the second half. Ivica Šurjak won a free kick on the left side at the corner of the penalty area. Šurjak himself curled a sharp ball from the free kick into the middle, and Mišo Krstičević headed a half-lob into the net.
In the 65th minute, Dinamo announced the equalizer with a brilliant move. Rajko Janjanin found Petar Bručić, who crossed the ball, and Savko Marić headed it goalward. Goalkeeper Budinčević prevented the goal with a save. Three minutes later, Janjanin again initiated an attack which, after three quick and skillful passes, ended in a goal. Zlatko Cico Kranjčar received the ball, then Ivica Poljak, before Ćalasan finally placed a precise shot into the corner.
In the 75th minute, Šurjak tried again from the other side, but Maksimir goalkeeper Želimir Stinčić saved his net with a brilliant reaction.
