It was Dinamo's triumphant season that concluded with furious performances in the spring part of the competition when the blues flew to the championship title on a "jet engine". However, they were also collecting points in the autumn half-season which they, admittedly, finished in second place, but with clearly expressed ambitions for the spring hunt for the top. One of the particularly impressive matches from the autumn competition calendar was the away match in Sarajevo. The match was marked by a total of five goals, result turnarounds and Dinamo's victory...

The blues defeated Sarajevo 3-2 at Grbavica stadium. This is not a "lapse": this autumn encounter between Sarajevo and Dinamo was played at Grbavica stadium, home of Željezničar, because the facility at Koševo was hosting the 40th Balkan Athletics Games and was also partially renovated for the occasion. However, already in spring, after the completion of that phase of construction, the maroon team returned to their Koševo.

In Sarajevo's squad there was also a kind of crisis in the team because coach Fuad Muzurović had offered his irrevocable resignation before the match. Despite announcing that he would still manage this encounter against Dinamo, he was absent, citing health reasons. The maroon team was led from the bench by Boško Prodanović.

From Dinamo's team, Milivoj Bračun was absent due to a red card, Marin Kurtela due to injury and Mladen Munjaković for health reasons. In Sarajevo's team, standard defense members remained on the sidelines – Ferid Radeljaš, Nijaz Ferhatović and Faruk Hadžibegić. The main star of the home team, Safet Sušić, was not in the squad because he was still serving his military service, but it was nearing its end, and he joined the team about ten days later.

Interestingly, however, this autumn encounter between Sarajevo and Dinamo was almost identical to their later mutual encounter in spring in Zagreb. In both cases Dinamo led at halftime 2-0, both times they led in the continuation 2-1 and 3-1 and finally won 3-2; in both encounters Dinamo entered after scoring four goals against Teteks in the previous round; in both cases Bračun was absent from Dinamo's squad due to a red card which he earned both that autumn and then in spring in the clash against Hajduk...

The match started vigorously, Boro Cvetković already in the 1st minute sharply crossed in front of the home goal, and Stjepan Deverić from about ten meters hit the crossbar.

However, in the 14th minute he was more precise and shook the net. In the action after a quickly taken free kick, Deverić received the ball, broke past three defenders into the penalty area and then powerfully shot diagonally from the left side, and the ball bounced off the post into the goal.

The lively and omnipresent Deverić also increased the lead in the 35th minute, Dragan Bošnjak played a precise ball into space, Dinamo's striker avoided the offside trap, emerged alone in front of the goalkeeper whom he skillfully bypassed and calmly scored the second goal.

Sarajevo returned to the game at the opening of the second half, Husref Musemić, after a cross from the wing, headed the ball on, Predrag Pašić received it and with a powerful volley from 18 meters launched it into the goal.

However, just eight minutes later the blues again escaped to a two-goal difference. Petar Bručić decided to "accept Pašić's challenge" and score an almost equally effective goal. He powerfully shot from 25 meters and precisely hit the very corner.

Coach Miroslav Ćiro Blažević had to change the goalkeeper in the 75th minute. Marijan Vlak was injured in a clash with Musemić so Zvonko Marić stepped between the goalposts. And it was precisely Musemić who reduced the blues' lead five minutes later. Mirza Kapetanović crossed into the middle, and the Sarajevo striker in the penalty area undisturbed received the ball and sent it into the net. The home team, however, did not have the strength for a comeback.
