The echo of applause that Domagoj Antolić deserved for his goal in stoppage time has been reverberating for a long time. Dinamo defeated Romanian side Petrolul 2-1 in the Europa League play-off second leg, and that winning goal was indeed scored by Antolić with an impressive piece of skill. The Blues had secured safe passage even before that moment, having won the first leg away 3-1, so Antolić's strike wasn't decisive, but it was still a special "cherry on top".

With just one move he freed himself from two opposing players, "pulled" the attack and scored for 2-1. He was about twenty metres from goal, with his back turned, and then with a lightning-quick heel flick (!) pushed the ball behind two Romanians, who were still looking confusedly in the opposite direction. Antolić spun 180 degrees in an instant, rushed into attack and scored...

Dinamo dominated throughout the entire match, with the visitors threatening twice. In the first instance, Toto Tamuz hit the post, and later, when Dinamo were leading, they managed to equalise. Moreover, after Tamuz's shot hit the post, the ball bounced off goalkeeper Eduardo's back and danced along the goal line.

The Zagreb side took the lead in the 22nd minute, with Duje Čop receiving the ball after being brilliantly played through by Paulo Machado. The Maksimir striker broke clear one-on-one with the goalkeeper and scored to give his team the lead. Just a few moments of relaxation were enough for the Romanians to get back into the game. The move was initiated by celebrated Romanian striker Adrian Mutu, who at that time was Petrolul's captain and number ten. The ball was picked up by Juan Angel Albin who was surrounded by several players, but skilfully chipped Eduardo, with the ball bouncing off the post into the net for the equaliser in the 59th minute. However, in the dying moments of the match, Antolić produced a moment of brilliance and with his juggling manoeuvre secured another victory for Dinamo.
