Građanski – Slavija Osijek 7-0 (championship semifinal, path to the title)
Seven goals in the quarterfinal and – seven again in the semifinal! Građanski confidently marched towards their second championship title in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. After securing first place in the Zagreb Football Sub-Association championship, the blues entered the playoffs for the national championship where they defeated Ilirija from Ljubljana 7-1 in the quarterfinal, before overcoming Slavija from Osijek 7-0 in the semifinal match on July 18th.
In the knockout phase system of that era, there was still only one match, without a return leg. Although, it's hard to believe that even a potential return leg could have changed anything after such a result in the Zagreb match. While Franjo Joža Giller was the absolute hero of the quarterfinal against Ilirija when he scored six of the seven goals for the blues, against Slavija he was – "twice less successful". He scored "only" three times. Moreover, both Giller and Rudolf Hitrec were hat-trick scorers. Hitrec opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a header from a corner kick. At the start of the second half he hit the crossbar, and shortly after, in the 55th minute, he increased the lead with a precise strike. Three minutes later Emil Perška scored for 3-0 following Giller's pass. In the 64th minute Giller himself led the attack and "slalomed" through the defense to practically walk into the goal. In the 86th minute he converted a penalty awarded after the ball hit a visiting defender's hand. Three minutes later Giller completed his hat-trick from a counter-attack for 6-0. In the very next action Hitrec also scored his third goal for the final 7-0.
