Plavi istok

The first Fan Club Bad Blue Boys was created in the 1990 and many wanted to participate in its work. In this part of history, fans were faced with numerous problems.

Fellowship of supporters grew and reached a peak on the 13th May 1990. On that day Dinamo and Crvena Zvezda supposed to play the match at the Maksimir stadium. The visiting fans, so-called "Delije", began to challenge Dinamo fans before the match. When the Belgrade hooligans broke through a fence on the south standings and went toward the small group of Dinamo fans, the North stand, where Bad Blue Boys were, gone wild. In just few seconds Dinamo fans entered the field and the chaos began. The police have followed the instructions of their superiors and started a conflict with the supporters of Dinamo. Many fans were arrested and beaten but the former Dinamo captain, Zvonimir Boban, stood up for Dinamo fans. Many consider that his legendary jump on one of the policemen was the beginning of the Homeland War.

During the war, many supporters of Dinamo defended Croatia. Along with fans of other Croatian clubs, Bad Blue Boys passed the battlefields from Vukovar to Prevlaka. Many of them never returned to the Maksimir stadium. In honour and glory of killed Dinamo fans below the western stands is raised a monument - an altar to Croatian soldiers who were Dinamo supporters. Bad Blue Boys were Dinamo 12th player not only at the Maksimir stadium but the stadium stands across the whole Europe. In that sense, they stayed the part of the Dinamo ‘’legends’’.
